The memory of the wounded princess still echoes in the mind of Xavier Gourmelon, one of the first members of the emergency services to rush at the tunnel after the car Diana was in crashed into its 13th pillar at 120mph.

The firefighter, who was the duty officer at the nearby Malar fire station on August 31 1997, opened up on the heartbreaking last moments he shared with the People’s Princess.

Mr Gourmelon, now 50, recalled the few words the shocked princess was able to tell him before her heart collapsed.

According to the firefighter, during her last moments, Diana said: “My God, what’s happened?”

That's not the only thing that is strange about this dreadful event...……….why did the ambulance take over an hour to leave the scene with Diana in it and then why the 20+ minute slow drive to hospital. And much more...………..

This dreary saga never ends

What a lovely lady she was. Some should take view and try to replicate. Although I doubt it.

Allegedly cucked her husband, gave birth to another mans child, snorted coke, and had sex with a Muslim.

Not my idea of a 'lovely lady', but she didn't deserve to be killed.

French ambulances are very well equipped and they began to operate on Her in the ambulance at the scene and they then drove slowly to the hospital whilst they were operating

Did he really wear cuff links on their honeymoon sporting the initials C&C,  Charles and Camilla?

I suspect that those were not really her last words at all
