ED visa after years in Thailand

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm currently on Non O visa based on marriage, I have only 360 000 bahts so I'm thinking about any alternative. What are the chance to get an ED visa after years in Thailand? do you get a refund from school if you don't obtain the visa?

Was not aware that there was a visa for Erectile Dysfunction (ED)  ?

But other than that there are agencies ,  mentioned in many other threads so just search a little, who can "arrange" for retirement visas  without the requisite  seasoned money . Sent you a PM

Why not ask your wife...to get a loan for the  extra 40,000 baht  best from friends or family...gold,motorbike etc as collateral...next best try the banks  then  pawn shops...last resort  the loan shark.

Extension of stay based on marriage is far better option  than ED visa  which they have been cracking down on recently.

Yes but a few things  maybe he is not 50+  so can't do retirement, there is no possibility to find work on a retirement visa, those agencies are skirting on thin ice (legally) and are quite expensive..but yes they are an option.

thanks for your answer, I'm less than 50 and my budget won't going up for few months I'm afraid. I'm checking the thai language schools, seems the fees are way higher than they were 5 years ago, it was around 20 000 and it's 40 000 per year now.

I you cannot get the additional 40k baht to apply for the extension of stay you go to Savannakhet Laos and get a multiple entry non-o visa that allows unlimited 90 day entries for a year from the date of issue.

It means leaving the country every 90 day for a new entry but IMO that would better than attending school to get a non-ed visa and 90 day extensions of stay.

That sounds very good, so at the end of my visa I just go to laos and ask an extension of stay? no need to show my bank account?

Edit: Oh I think I didn't understand well, it would be a new visa, new application, so the same than when I applied here but without the need of 400 000 bahts proof?

You have an extension of stay now not a visa.

You would be getting a multiple entry non-o visa based upon marriage. It will require you leave the country every 90 days unless you apply for a 60 day extension to visit your wife.

No need to show any financial proof when applying at the Thai consulate in Savannakhet Laos.

If later you were able to have the 400k baht in the bank for 2 months you could apply for a one year extension of stay during the last 30 days of any of the 90 day entries from the visa.

sorry for my slow understanding, I think I'm beginning to grasp the concept, I got my visa on 2 September 2015 then I got my first extension with work permit and 40 000 per month proof then second year extension with 400 000 bahts proof.

Now I can make another non O visa, I thought it was possible only for the first time. So I could make a new visa every year? without ever have to show 400 000 proof?

There is no restriction on the number of non-o visas you can get.

For as long as they are still issuing them in them in Savannakhet with no financial proof you could another one every year for as long as you wanted to.

Damn it, too bad I didn't understand this before. Ubonjoe as always you're a life saver.

Now maybe a last question,do you know what are the odds to get this visa? do they denied it often? the fact that I'm here since long time maybe

I don't recall any report of anybody being denied one at Savannakhet as long as they had the required documents.

Marriage certificate plus a copy, signed copies of wife's house book registry and ID card.

Thank you so much for your time, I'm going to celebrate this good new with my family. Hopefully everything will go smoothly for the next visa.

Yes until/if they change the financial requirements. People have been using this visa to stay in the country for years.

When you do the 90 day border run avoid the Aranya/PoiPet crossing. They don't allow out/in border runs.
