Lottery tickets purchased at last minute score a Bt90-millon win

A man from Samut Sakhon, who bought a set of 15 lottery tickets with the same number not long before the September 1 draw, has won the Bt90-million jackpot.

 

He picked up the winning tickets from his regular vendor at a PTT petrol station on Ekkachai road in Samut Sakhon's Muang district Monday morning.

 

The vendor, who identified himself as Pete, has a stall inside the petrol station.

 

Pete explained that he was left with two sets of lottery tickets, each with 15 tickets of the same number, with a few hours to go before Saturday’s draw so contacted his regular patrons via the LINE app, showing them photos of the two sets. The buyer selected the set that turned out to be the winner and wired him Bt1,800.

 

Pete said his second regular buyer agreed to buy the remaining set. That won the two-digit prize, rewarding him with Bt30,000.

Pete must be kicking himself  . . . .  he should have hung onto those last two bundles!

Maybe the wire didn't arrive in time.............

And the RTA still receives 270,000 free tickets each lottery.......keeps the generals in nice form!

Have heard this type of story too many times. Im sure its a tale to make people either buy more tickets or to buy the last ones from people.

Also from what my wife said she says that if the guy hadn't been paid for the tickets by around 3pm or whatever then the tickets become void for the draw . Im guessing they must have to send the money in by a set time ,  although I thought the sellers bought the tickets before selling them on.

Should that not be...the buyer wired him Bht 1800....and THEN the tickets turned out to be the winnerS.

This show hasn't ended yet. The tickets really belong to a retired policeman who happen to buy them and accidentally dropped them on the pavement and they were picked up by a stranger passing by. The local police station support the claim of their ex-associate even though he has no witnesses.

I thought that there was a law in place preventing lottery tickets from being sold at more than face value of 80 baht! These cost 120 baht each, so, surely the ticket vendor should be prosecuted!

There should be a law forbidding to sell set tickets , then everyone would be having a chance to win something.
