Several sources have said that Jomtien IO now wants a MAP to your residence . Can anyone verify this? I renew my extension of stay in October.

Becoming a common requirement at more IO's now.

 

Some accept a google printed map, whilst others insist on a hand drawn map.

I've read reports Jomtien have insisted on the latter.

Never heard of a map asked at Jomtien for a Retirement Extension... 

Maybe only for Marriage Extension (with other stuff like pics of house,...)

They have always required a map  from me  ( marriage extension)

Google map print out should be fine +  your official postal address

I don't think they are interested in GPS co-ordinates.

 

I use the map provided by our housing estate.

Agree - never been required for retirees, but apparently wanted for marriage extension - as I understand it, the IO fellows like to visit the house/neighborhood to check if the married couple are actually living together.

My 5th "O-A Retirement extension" completed this morning at the Jomtien IO. No map asked for.

You're extending your permission to stay based on retirement. The O-A visa you may have used to enter the country before getting your first extension of stay was issued to you by an embassy or consulate. It has expired. The permission to stay or extension of that permission is granted by immigrations. They don't extend visas.
