webfact
New Lopburi "Hi-So Song Thaews" are the baht buses with the mostest! Picture: MCOT A new fleet of song thaews in Lopburi are being hailed as the Rolls Royce of baht buses! MCOT called the 14 vehicle fleet fitted with fast wi-fi, air conditioning and CCTV as "Hi-So Song Thaews". Driver of bus number 19/8 Chatchawan Phrom-orn, 62, said he was so happy with his new vehicle and the kids and old folks on his route love the new service. They said it is clean, cool and safer - the CCTV guards against hotheads or people touching children inappropriately. The buses are the idea of Sorachat Khondech who wanted to create something new in a saturated market. He said that the wi-fi is 4GB and that the fare is only 10 baht no matter how far you travel. Each vehicle is fitted with GPS and drivers are limited to go no faster than 40 km/h. There is a 1,000 baht prize available to the driver who gets the most praise for the service - and 100 baht fines for those who leave the Lopburi bus terminal with a dirty vehicle. Drivers who contravene regulations like leaving passengers stranded or not locking the back door face immediate suspension, said Sorachat. Popular Post NCC1701A
this might work in sleepy Lopburi but I don't think this would work in Pattaya. I like to see what kind of human scum is in the baht bus before I get in. 2

There's more face to be had in their expensive cars. Then again, if it makes ordinary people feel like hi so...…….dream on.

Wow, time for immigration to bring a visit to Mr Sorachat because he does not seem to be Thai. ? 1

Popular Post Katipo
Great to see some initiative being used to compete. Wish it was more common in transport services. I hope this company finds success.
hotchilli
Not sure how much "free wifi" is going to help on a short trip as most people have a service already but good luck to him thinking ahead... hope the filters are heavy duty it could "pen and ink" by the end of the day!!!!
