My husband and I are married in Thailand. We have the thai mariage certificate in thai. Imigration ask them to translate it in english by the consulate of foreigner at the imigration, so its done. But according to the listing paper (see attached) we might certified it by our embassy...

Do we need to do it while its done in thailand by the district office?

You do no not qualify for the visa or extension it would allow you to apply for.

One of you must be a Thai national to do the application.

Being married here does not allow you to apply for a non-o visa or extension of stay based upon your marriage.

If one of you can qualify for certain extensions of stay it is possible for the other to get an extension for being a member of their family.

Edit: After checking you posting history it appears you got married here so that you  could get an extension based upon the others who is working.

Since you were married here there would be no need for your embassy to legalize your marriage certificate. Immigration might want legalized by the Consular Affairs Department of the MFA.

One of you would have to apply for an extension based on retirement (not marriage) as your both foreigners.

Only Thai Embassies/Consulates can issue a Non Imm O Visa. You must be over 50 years of age.

 

It can be done for the spouse or other family members of a person working here. Check the link in my edited post.

It does not need legalising by your Embassy as you married here.

 

If Immigration need it translating into English, then the translation and marriage certificate can be legalised by the Consular section of the Ministry of foreign affairs in Bangkok.

Ive been to the imigration last week and thy requested the english translation.

But nothing about our embassy

Not sure why they would want a marriage certificate in Thai translated unless they wanted to be sure you understood what it said.

Your embassy would not do anything with a Thai marriage certificate. The info in 9.2 is not needed if you have a marriage certificate (note the or at the end of 9.1).

Agreed, but if that's what Immigration want and have asked for !!!

Probably the IO has never seen a Thai marriage certificate of two foreigners married in Thailand and is puzzled.

So he's looking for the apostille stuck to the documents by the Ministry of Foreign affairs.
