webfact
Thai woman saves cat from five meter long python Picture: Sanook A 63 year old Pathum Thani resident attacked a five meter long python with a stick after it tried to eat her pet cat. Prayat Faktua heard the yelps coming from the back of the house in Klong 1 and saw in horror that the snake had her pet in its mouth. But she managed to free the cat who suffered a cut to its belly. The snake then took refuge in a wall cavity. Hong Sakul snake catchers took an hour to extricate the python needing to use a hammer to smash cement. The snake will be released into the wild in Khao Yai. Source: Sanook -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2018-09-

The only Hongsakul I remember is Paweena Hongsakul of "I saw no evidence of prostitution in Pattaya" fame, then the children's foundation with her name. Perhaps it's just a common name? overherebc
Very brave act by the old lady. A five metre python is something I don't think I would even point a stick at never mind hit it with one. At that size the minimum would be a very painful and nasty bite from it.
