Non Imm B Type Visa

Featured Replies

I will be going to Vientiene in a couple of weeks to get myNon Imm B Type Visa(Teacher). I would like to know about these new police checks.

I was living and teaching in Chiang Mai for seven months. Left the job and my WP and previous Non Imm B Type got cancelled. I have now been living in Phuket for three months - on my third VOA. I have just secured a new teaching position.

My questions are:

1 - Do I get a police check from here in Phuket or Chiang Mai?

2 - Do I need one from my home country?

3 - What does the letter from the police have to say?

4 - Who has to do it - The chief of police or any regular policeman?

Cheers.

The police check is from one office of the national police in Bangkok only. I am sure there will be posts about this in the teaching forum with full details.

For what it's worth, there is now an unconfirmed report on ajarn of schools being told in writing that all new non-im b's for teaching must be obtained from one's home country along with a police check. Should this turn out to be accurate information, things are about to get very interesting when it comes to being a legal teacher in Thailand.

Again, this is new and unconfirmed information at this point.
