Trump: I did it my way no regrets → Iran war → $6 diesel → $100+ oil

“I'D DO EXACTLY WHAT I DID”

Donald Trump says he has no regrets whatsoever over the war with Iran — even as the economic consequences of the conflict are beginning to hit American households in the wallet.

“If I had it to do again, I would do exactly what I did,” Trump reportedly told Fox News.

The president has continued to defend the military campaign, arguing that Iran could not be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon.

But while Trump insists the war was necessary, Americans are increasingly having to deal with its economic consequences.

DIESEL HITS $6

US diesel prices have now climbed above $6 a gallon for the first time, representing an increase of around 60% since the conflict began in late February.

And diesel isn't just a problem for motorists.

It powers huge sections of the American economy — from trucks and farm machinery to construction equipment and industrial transport.

When diesel rises sharply, the cost eventually works its way through almost everything.

Food has to be transported.

Goods have to be delivered.

Farmers have to operate machinery.

Businesses have to move products.

And somebody ultimately pays the extra bill.

KPMG chief economist Diane Swonk warned that the diesel shock could become a significant inflation problem over the coming months.

“The cost of diesel gets into just about everything,” she said, pointing to the additional costs that eventually get passed on to consumers.

OIL ABOVE $100

Crude oil prices are adding to the pressure.

Brent crude briefly approached $110 a barrel on Friday before falling back, while West Texas Intermediate remained around $100.

That represents a dramatic change for an American economy that had been hoping to keep inflation under control.

And the consequences aren't confined to petrol stations.

WALL STREET FEELS THE HEAT

Investors are also becoming increasingly nervous.

The S&P 500 fell 0.5% on Thursday, the Nasdaq 100 dropped 0.6% and the Dow Jones lost 316 points.

At the same time, the yield on the US 10-year Treasury approached 5%, while the 30-year yield climbed to levels not seen for years.

The concern is straightforward: expensive energy can keep inflation high.

That could make it harder for the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates, while higher borrowing costs can feed through into mortgages, car loans and business finance.

America could therefore find itself facing an unpleasant combination of higher prices and higher borrowing costs.

A NEW OIL SHOCK?

There are also reports that the situation could become considerably worse.

The Hormuz Letter has claimed, citing satellite imagery, that Saudi Arabia's East-West crude oil pipeline may have suffered damage.

The pipeline is hugely important because it can transport around 7 million barrels of Saudi crude a day from Abqaiq to Yanbu on the Red Sea, providing an export route that bypasses the Strait of Hormuz.

Satellite imagery has reportedly shown fire and heat anomalies along part of the pipeline route.

But those reports have not yet been independently confirmed.

If significant damage to the pipeline is confirmed, however, the oil market could face another major shock — potentially pushing crude prices even higher.

FROM WAR TO THE WALLET

That is what makes the latest developments particularly important for ordinary Americans.

The Iran conflict is no longer simply a story about missiles, military targets and the Strait of Hormuz.

It is becoming a household-budget story.

The driver pays more.

The trucker pays more.

The farmer pays more.

The supermarket pays more to receive its goods.

And eventually, the consumer pays more at the checkout.

Trump says he would make exactly the same decision again.

But the question increasingly facing America is not whether the president regrets the war.

It is how much the war will ultimately cost.

I can think of someone else that did it my way with no regrets 😃

And this is one of the primary reasons why nobody who is worth over a billion dollars should ever be allowed to run for public office, much less president. This man is completely out of touch, he cares not one iota for the economic well-being of the average American, nor billions of people around the world. He despises people who are not wealthy and it seems he will only appoint wealthy men to important cabinet posts, who are thoroughly incompetent and and inexperienced.

When do you think is the last time Trump's actually been to a gas station or a supermarket?

1998, to fill up his Lamborghini Diablo, just before his dad died. Like Andy Burnham, a man of the people.

It's all about him and money. And he's making lots of that, so of course there's no regrets.

U know they say Frank was hung like a small donkey and he had special underpants made to 'compress' when on stage performing.

I think he will have regrets in November , especially if his

5000 $ bribe does not work ,as he would like.

he's a heartless, no sensitivity, no education, selfish no class and a total lack of decency, etc... I wouldn't expect anything else from him, no way he would never/ever apologize for anything that went wrong, his ego doesn't allow him to do so as, by his standards, apologies are for the weak ones. He screw up the world economy, he knows it and so do his goons but they still blaming Biden for any wrongdoing, that MAGA slogan is Deflect, Deny, Divert and Don't answer

He fooocked up the Strait of Hormuz and now the Suez Canal as well, to what reason, so he and his goons can make billions

Don't all these increased costs hit his own businesses as well?

Or is he making so much on the side from his dodgy deals that he is not bothered about his hotels and golf courses too much?

I am puzzled why the Democrats would actually want to win the midterms as they will be continually trolled for oil being $100. Whatever is wrong with the economy, it will be the Democrats who caused it.

Is he going to lose his presidency in the midterms? Is he going to miss out on the chance for a third term? Is he going to become bankrupt (again)............no..........the only fly in the ointment is impeachment, but I'm far from convinced that would ever come to anything.

So what the hell.

And Trump's way was the stupid way--unless you want to make money. How many times did Trump start and stop this war, give truces, cancel them? Initially, there was support inside Iran to topple the mullahs. Trump waited for them to be slaughtered before he acted, of course. So why the war? Everytime Trump would announce a ceasefire, you can be sure he and his friends were buying the markets the day in advance. And when he made another threat or launched an attack? He already had sold. This is the EXACT same market manipulation that went on during his first term. Except then it was tariffs and China.

Only by the MAGA crowd!

The rest of America/the world can still tell the difference between lies and the truth!
