DPM Somkid: Thailand’s economy remains on path to growth

BANGKOK, 12th September 2018 (NNT) – The deputy prime minister in charge of economic affairs has assured the public that the Thai economy remains on a path to growth.

Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak said on Tuesday that the country’s economy is continuing to recover strongly in all respects — from exports to consumption, along with public investment and tourism.

Mr. Somkid said that such a claim can be demonstrated by Thailand’s GDP growth rate in the first half of this year, which stood at 4.8 percent, just when the global economic conditions remained anything but certain.

He stated that Thailand’s economic situation remains stable and the country will pursue further growth.

The Deputy Prime Minister went on to say, that although public investment may slow down somewhat, the government will carry on with its investment plan from the last months of 2018 to the beginning of 2019.

Mr. Somkid added, that if nothing bad should happen, he is confident the Thai economy will enjoy even better growth next year.

Really a no brainer to grow when the junta wreck the economy by staging a coup in 2014. Anything above zero is growth.

I'm disappointed. They haven't called him a tsar in this article.

Sad fact is Somkid and his crowd of cronies actually believe the garbage they keep spouting.

Just look at the plonker,  hardly able to keep a straight face. All he needs is a big red nose and funny shoes.

Wouldn't that be true for any nation?

Which is to have foreign nations like China and Japan do all the major investments and/or the Thai government will borrow from foreign nations.
