'Republican Shirt' Suspect Handed Over To Police

Wannapha is brought to the Crime Suppression Division on Tuesday night.

 

BANGKOK — A woman held in army custody since last week for possessing a T-shirt linked to an underground republican movement is now in police custody, a rights group said Wednesday.

 

Investigators are expected to charge the woman, named Wannapha, with sedition later today, according to Sorawut Wongsaranon of Thai Lawyers for Human Rights. Junta leaders on Tuesday called the group “treasonous” and pledged to seek the extradition of its leaders, who are believed to be in Laos.

Don't give me any of this Newcastle United nonsense, the colours show protest against the junta: The white symbolising resistance, the black, the junta. A 'Fly Emirates' logo on top of that demonstrating your loyalty to the Shinawatra family. That sounds like treason to me.

 

Yes of course I am spouting nonsense, but it is demonstrative of the depths this country is sinking to...

It wasn't too long ago they arrested a farang for not wearing a shirt at all.

Understandable in a country where people are very thoughtful, you might say "picky", choosing their proper (government approved) attire:

I'm packing away all my red coloured shirts and tshirts until it's safe to be seen wearing in public

I notice they have sidelined Prawit's (Toady) name from this arrest, he seemingly was one of the main instigator of this woman's ridiculous predicament!

I try to wear mine every Sunday, sometimes I forget its Sunday on Sunday and wear a different coloured shirt !

I should imagine extraditing people, on the grounds that they are suspected of having republican sympathies, from the Peoples Democratic Republic of Laos may be a non starter...

Big Joke, being Prawit's new sidekick is in top form covering up for his boss's foolish comments. Like his remarks about Koh Tao being a law abiding, corruption free and non-violent island. 

The Jokester can now produce as evidence a 20 metre heavy duty vinyl banner with a flow chart of this woman and all her treasonous underground blackshirts who supposedly want to steal part of Thailand away from the Thai military and make it independent. 

Throwing her in jail is sure to bring more international criticism and ridicule of the junta and it's paranoid leaders.

Very true. It is as it has always been, with the boys in green in control. Not so long ago they could pull the strings from within the barracks. Not so anymore and so the reason for the Coup is exposed. Take full control before the myth was exposed. Hard to see it any other now.

Someone should get an education on the difference between federation and republic. Idiot alert on.
