A social media drama has a simple explanation according to the chief of police in a northern Bangkok area.

A woman called Sunisa Kaewloy had posted online after she saw a policeman helping himself to fruit from her elder sister's cart after she was taken into the Pratunam Chulalongkorn station.

The cop hadn't asked but was enjoying the fruit. When asked he allegedly said "we can eat the evidence". It wasn't Ya Ba after all. She  demanded an explanation.

Yesterday a calm and collected chief Pol Col Pannaphat Dechchotphisit explained to Manager that the relatives had got it all wrong.

It was just a storm in a fruit cart.

This was not thieving cops - this was all above board.

You see, said the chief, police had brought the fruit seller in because her Vietnamese husband was helping her and thus working illegally.

To expedite matters and save the fruit seller time and money a cop, out of the kindness of his heart, had bought all her produce for 500 baht so that everyone at the station could enjoy some lovely fruit.

That was all it was. They were well within their rights to be having a few slices.

At least this time it's fruit-flavoured BS. Much sweeter to swallow, I'm sure.

First police try explaining illegal working husband after that he bought all her fruit for 500 b but just forgot to tell her about it and also forgot to pay her......

real story is just another corrupt police officer ...

Oh dear ! once again one of those pesky foreigners making trouble in lovely LOS, illegally working and illegally selling our lovely sacred fruit.

And the fine for the husband was what, Bt500?

Probably charged her 1,000 baht... so got the fruit (and breakfast) for free and made 500 baht profit !

All in a days work for your local BiB !

I thought fake news was banned.

My god, he must think we are all stupid to believe this cock and bull story. Actually it's not that is it.....it is just total contempt for the public, stemming from being above the law.
