BANGKOK, 24 September 2018 (NNT) - Marijuana is the 5th category of narcotics used in medical research in many countries. A committee considering medical marijuana has advised the government that Thailand will be disadvantaged without a law to permit the use of medical marijuana.

Chairman of the committee M.D.Sophon Mekthon, said on the weekend, that the National Legislative Assembly is considering a draft of a law to permit the cultivation, extraction and production of plants containing narcotic substances for medical research.

The Ministry of Public Health has set up four working groups to study the matter. Members of the committees include the director-general of the Department of Medical Services as well as representatives of the Food and Drug Administration and the Office of the Narcotics Control Board.

Many countries such as Canada, the U.S., Australia and countries in Western Europe have already allowed the use of marijuana for medical purposes.

Come back in three years then....

Hey, it's a CA$H crop.

Many big money investors in the US and internationally are eager to put big bucks into the pot business.

With the recently developed super strains of reefer and Thailand's excellent climate where could be better?

It's already happening.  The approval/authorization has been given. The deals have been done.  Now the public is being sold on it.

Step by step.

It's interesting to see the elites wiggle and come to life when suddenly they sense a profit-motive and possible personal enrichment by legalizing something that they condemned in the past.
I'm not complaining, simply stating the obvious.

With the very limited availability of pain medications in Thailand, this would be a very safe solution. The best legal pain medication in Thailand currently is alcohol..not the best choice...

Thai Sticks ™ .

A Ganga stock just broke US$300.  Wet blankets can learn to love anything that allows them to build more casinos on the Cambodian border.  Tra la la
