Not sure I fully understand what 'rich' means in English there, but I interpret is as 'not diluted enough' i.e. too 'thick' or too much of one ingredient. Sorry for any misunderstanding...

If so, it might be easiest to specify which ingredient that's been overused.

ใส่ ingredient มากเกินไป

sai [ingredient] maak goen (or 'gern' for those who don't pronounce the 'r') bpai

or, specify what there is not enough of:

ใส่ ingredient ไม่พอ

sai [ingredient] mai paw (or 'por' for those who don't pronounce the 'r')

To say 'too thick':

หนาเกินไป

naa goen (/gern) bpai

"mixture too rich" means that the mixture of air and petrol (or gasoline) from the Carburettor has too much petrol and not enough air

หัวเทียน hŭa tian the Thai spelling for Spark plug as David said. I'm not sure if it means "glow plugs" as in a diesel as well

This is a small thing but is it possible for members in the language forum to write any words or sentences in english script as well as Thai script as loong has done above with spark plug for us non readers of Thai script ... I find it very very useful for picking up new vocabulary ... thankyou DT

or would one say

i now have some advice from a thai car nut to add:

for carburettor, use คาบู (khaa boo)

for too rich, use จ่ายน้ำมันมากเกินไป (jai nam man maak gern pai)

Thanks for replies guys, very useful. Just hope the secondhand sales mechanic will change the buggered carburettor!
