Commerce Ministry targeting 200 billion baht in circulation from Blue Flag stores in 2019

BANGKOK, 1 October 2018 (NNT) – Thailand's Ministry of Commerce has increased the circulation target for the Blue Flag Pracharat Store program in 2019 to 200 billion baht after achieving over 100 billion baht in circulation this year. 

Minister of Commerce, Sonthirat Sonthijirawong, reported that the nation’s 11.4 million welfare card holders spent over 41 billion baht in the country’s 50,000 Blue Flag Pracharat stores between October 2017 and September 2018 with over 20 billion baht spent on community and farming goods, all together generating 100 billion baht in circulation. 

The ministry is now pushing for more small stores to join the program and further strengthen the nation’s grassroots economy. In 2019, the ministry is targeting circulation of no less than 200 billion baht.
