Jai Dee Posted February 13, 2007 Share Posted February 13, 2007 BAAC to improve farming businesses nationwide The Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC), in cooperation with the central agricultural group committee of Thailand, will enhance the agricultural businesses under the principle of sufficiency economy and provide managerial knowledge to agriculturists. BAAC manager Thirapong Tangthirasuranand said the BAAC has signed an agreement with the central agricultural group committee of Thailand in the development of agricultural businesses under the sufficiency economy platform. Under the agreement, both agencies will also alleviate the farmers’ troubles, provide them with career opportunities and extra earnings, and promote savings. The BAAC will provide loans with proper interest rates for farmers to develop their agricultural production. The bank will also help agricultural groups to have sufficient finance to carry on their part-time jobs, and farmers will also be provided with managerial knowledge. The BAAC and the central agricultural group committee of Thailand will jointly consider the loans for farmers, and they aim to improve the farming businesses of 99 agricultural groups nationwide.
