Visa run from CR city

Featured Replies

Hi all.

I have been told that I have two options: Laos or Burma. I need to do a quick Non O visa run (I have a multiple entry).

Which one is the preferred border? And any hints and pointers are GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks

I would say Mae Sai to Myanmar would be the best choice since you only have to pay $10 or 500 baht for a border pass.

You have to get a visa on arrival for Laos that requires a fee form $30 to $42 dependent upon your nationality.

I did the border bounce last week at Mae Sai over to Tachilek Immigration, paid my 500 Baht, told them I wasn't shopping and they stamped me in and out. I crossed back into Mae Sai all in around 10 minutes. Doesn't come much quicker than that. Not so many people about these days.

Thank you both for the update. I am not aware of border passes. Always did the visa run to Savanakhet or flew in and out.

The border pass is bought at Thai immigration?

Do I need a photo for the Myanmar side of the visa on arrival?

You pay for the border pass on the Myanmar side of the border. It is just stamp,

No photo or application needed it is not a visa on arrival.
