Obtaining Thai tourist visa in Myanmar

HI,

I was intending to go to Laos to get a Thai tourist visa. But my Thai wife was told by a friend that it is possible to obtain a visa in Myanmar. Can anyone corroborate this or is it simply not the case? Any help would be much appreciated. Best regards

It's true, you can get a tourist visa at the Royal Thai Embassy in Yangon. Hopefully someone will have an update with their current requirements - it's been a while since I was there and things tend to change.

Yes you can get one from Yangon, but Vientiane, Laos have less requirements (e.g. no flight or bank statements required).

Thanks for the help and sorry for the delay in replying. I'm inclined to go to Laos as I've been there before and I am reasonably familiar with the local embassy up there. BTW love the Sagan quote. Cheers
