Car accident involving Democrat leader, but no injuries

Democrat Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva’s car had an accident in front of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives Ministry after he headed off from the Constitutional Court to give answers on the political parties’ dissolution case.

The accident happened at 11:40 hours today when Mr. Abhisit’s black BMW Series-5 collided with a silver-bronze Toyota Wish in front of the Agriculture and Cooperatives Ministry on Ratchadamnoen Nok Road. Following the accident, the driver of Toyota Wish admitted that it was his fault and he was not very familiar with the routes in Bangkok. However, he praised Mr. Abhisit for not taking a legal action against him. Mr. Abhisit also told him that accidents do happen sometimes.

Mr. Adirek Yaemprai, the driver of Mr. Abhisit’s vehicle and his close friend, said he was heading to the Democrat Party head office before the accident occurred. Following the collision, a Volkswagen van loading with many Democrat leading members picked up Mr. Abhisit and headed to the Democrat Party head office.
