webfact
Lao worker shot dead in Phayao, workmate sought By The Nation Picture: Chiang Mai News A Lao worker was shot dead at a timber warehouse in Phayao’s Muang district on Thursday night. The body of Humphan Chancharoen, 23, was found at 9.30pm. Muang Phayao police also found spent ammunition shells from a .38-millimetre gun at the scene and another spent shell in the room where he lived in the workers' quarters. Thongpoon Panya, the shop owner who lives in a house about 20 metres away from the shop, said he heard two gunshots about ten minutes apart and that Pun Jaima, one of Humphan’s work colleagues from Chiang Rai, had since gone missing. Police believe Pun shot Humphan in his room and then followed him to the warehouse, where he shot him again. Police are now searching for Pun. I did, but thought I'd avoid commenting, as when I've done so before after a death I was criticised for making light of it. But, now you've mentioned it: He obviously wasn't out camping, as there was no Pun in tented.
