NLA organizes seminar on online football gambling prevention

BANGKOK, 2 November 2018 (NNT) - The Committee on Social, Children, Youth, Women, the Elderly, the Disabled and the Underprivileged of Thailand's National Legislative Assembly (NLA) has held a seminar on online football gambling to prevent children from developing a gambling addiction. 

The objective of the seminar is to provide a platform for related agencies to share their thoughts and information on the matter. It was found that more than 10% of people who gambled during World Cup 2018 were high school and university students. 

The seminar concluded that parents, teachers and social media are the 3 most effective groups in stopping students from gambling. With cooperation from the Thai Health Promotion Foundation, Thai Media Fund and 11 other organizations, the number of online gamblers declined this year. 

Participants wanted the government to develop a proactive approach in dealing with online gambling and set up a national committee to oversee the prevention of gambling efforts.

A committee organising a seminar. It doesn't get any better than that.

But wait.....it does gets better! Would you believe the seminar comes up with the suggestion of creating a new committee.

I try not laugh because they are serious but I have to wipe the tears from my eyes. ????

The buffet lunches cycle just keeps getting bigger and bigger.
