Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha is scheduled to officiate the opening of the road tunnel at the busy Ratchayothin intersection this morning (Monday).

The tunnel will be open to traffic at 10 am after the official opening at 10.30am , said the Office of the Secretary-General of the Prime Minister.

Construction of the road tunnel was carried out by Italian-Thai Development Corp which was also contracted to build the Northern Green Line electric train project.

Only in Thailand 10.00am is after 10.30am

Great news! Let's see how much it improves the traffic in this area.

And as usual none of the folks at PBS nor any other news agencies corrected it. And this is after the supposed media reforms of a couple of years ago. Reporting and journalism in Thailand get worse every year.

Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha chaired the opening ceremony of the Ratchayothin underpass on Monday morning.

The ceremony was held at 8.30 am and motorists will be allowed to use the underpass from 10am.

Traffic police believe the underpass will improve traffic flow on Ratchadapisek Road and inbound Phaholyothin Road.

The underpass has opened three months earlier than scheduled.

Brilliant! They have now moved beyond monkey in a box traffic lights! The 19th century is upon us.

Thank heavens. The Ratchadapisek/Pahonyothin iintersection has been a nightmare for too long.

With world class pointing.

Expect a closure a few months later for urgent maintenance work. ????

Probably will flood.
