PM to meet parties ahead of revocation of NCPO orders

BANGKOK, 6 November 2018 (NNT) – Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha is planning to hold talks with political parties prior to the withdrawal of the political ban at present outlawing election campaigns.

Gen Prayut, in his capacity as head of the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO), said political parties will be summoned no later than December to discuss the undoing of political restrictions issued by the NCPO. The exact date has yet to be determined.

He noted Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam has been assigned to collect opinions, suggestions, and concerns from all parties ahead of the planned meeting, as well as to discuss those concerns with the Election Commission for possible solutions.

In the meantime, DPM Wissanu has reminded politicians that they must be an active member of a party for at least 90 days, before being eligible to run for office in the upcoming election, meaning if they wish switch parties or become a party member, they would have to get the paper work done during November , given that the general election is to take place on February 24th, 2019.

Those with no desire to vie for seats in next year’s election can switch parties at any time, he added.

Should be an interesting and predictable February.

Why do they bother going through the motions?

So we will meet them in Dec and hope they never got this message and find themselves sidelined. Its all about not fixing definite rules until the last moment and causing confusion and panic. Its a constitution referendum re-run. Ensure silence, keep people uninformed.

This isn't the same as what I read this morning where the PM (apparently) said that the lifting of the ban must sometime after the 10th organic law is completed. Surely no point in holding any talks until that is finished.

FFP, PTP should send an inter to represent.  Sounds like a waste of time.  Both parties leadership are less than thrilled in having discussions with a junta leader.

The above sentence rather confirms your point. Cordially invited? No, "summoned"....

Opinions - this talk with political parties totally unnecessary

Suggestion - please don’t rig the election. You have done enough rigging.

Concerns - election will be postponed AGAIN due to false flag activities.

Back on 22nd May 2014 Chan Ocha invited political leaders to a meeting.... that turned out well didn't it!!!

Mass cleansing rebellion - awaiting.

No later than Dec 31st. Election day to be pegged January 1st. Let's vote!

Talks, I think it may be more of a lecture than talks. Probably one way communication.
