[If there is a better sub-forum to move this to, please do so]

As the cooler months approach it would be good to take my Son Camping.

Its something we do in the Summer in the UK and would like to do the same here.

But, time is limited after a UK trip over Christmas - so the location would need to be fairly close to Bangkok 2-3 hrs...

I'm looking for a Camping / Glamping place - Somewhere with pre-erected tents or even caravans etc...

(we can bring our own bedding)

BBQ'ing facilites on site etc....

Somewhere my 5 year old can ride his bike and my Wife and I can sit back and chill out with a glass of wine...

I looked at Hin-Tok Kanchanaburi - but at +6000 baht per night we're better off just going to a nice resort.., I want something a little more rustic.

If anyone has any recommendations for a small family (2 adult, 1x 5 year old) I would be grateful..

Any National Park. You can book a chalet on their website or hire all the camping equipment when you get there. You are unlikely to find caravans in Thailand. Book Tue-Thu and get 30% off. Avoid private campsites (there aren't many). They are full of drunk 18 - 50 year-old Thais who will wail all night, I assure you.

Join this FB camping group....They have 281k members & post places/pics of where they go.....

There's many nice spots not far from Bangkok.....

Many have tents pitched & for rent.....Easy to see by the same model tents in rows.......

We're in CM and many that are shown are in close proximity to Bangkok (too far to drive down for us for a weekend) but might be good for your reference.....

Some campgrounds do post there, but not as many as  families or individuals do.....
