Two big piles of rubbish had been dumped close to the Hat Baan Laem Pong. The village headman has trying to identify the rubbish dumpers. Cement bags and blocks were found in amongst the piles. The Headman is worried as many tourists are travelling around the area as there are five stars hotels and the rubbish is unsightly. Krabi King
Also a big problem in my area... dumps in palm and rubber plantations. But then again, a problem throughout the country. People can not take their waste, like building waste and oils for example,to a general collection point, like they have in the West. And in our area, around Krabi and Ao Nang, garbage collection does not have any attention at all from the local government, resulting in road side dumps, even in plain sight of visiting tourists. Sad to see those dumps, surrounded by beautiful nature.
Brigand
Until they address the socially prevalent 'couldn't give a toss about anything' problem and attitude towards everything then won't happen. Might as well ask them to be socially responsibly whilst doing the right thing...dream on.
