A single entry Non O from an embassy is, I believe valid for one year?

Does that one year give a one-year continuous stay in Thailand, or does it just mean the "utilized before" date is one year from the date of issue?

A single-entry Non-O will give you one entry for 90 days. IIRC they are valid for 3 or 6 months to the "enter before" or "use by" date.

A multi-entry Non-O will give you as many 90 day entries as you like with a "use by" date 12 months from the date of issue. Do a border hop just before "use by" and get another 90 days, nearly 15 months off the one visa.

A Non-OA (retirement) visa is usually multi-entry and give a permission to stay of 1 year each time you enter the country, do a border hop just before "use by" and get another year, two years off one visa.

(just backing up)

Double fault

A single Non-O is valid for (to be used within) 3 months from date of issue, not one year.

It allows a stay of 90 days.

...after 90 days, how to get 30 days more ?

There is no 30 day extension for a 90 day entry from a non-o visa.

If married to or have a Thai child you can get a 60 day extension to visit them.

solution...visa run ?

It depends upon what you mean by a visa run.

A border run for a 30 day visa exempt entry or a trip to a embassy or consulate for a visa?
