Bkknewera Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 (edited) Dear folks, Kindly give some time to hear me out, I relocated recently and started using AIS for my cellular needs. Once i moved into my condo i figured that the AIS network kept switching on and off. It really got to my nerves as had to get down from my place to use data. Since i am staying on the 17th Floor, maybe that's why? .Is this very usual with all companies?. Ok so this is the problem, I was thinking to make my cellular data hotspot for using my smart TV. Since i get reimbursement of my mobile bills i can afford 1000 baht per month upwards with good unlimited data. So that i don't need to buy wifi connection for my room. Also now i have moved to True just to see if the similar thing happens with it. Please understand my situation and help me out giving your genuine suggestions. Edited November 14, 2018 by Bkknewera
OneMoreFarang Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 It will be difficult for us to help you in your situation. The reason is that mobile phone signal quality is hugely different in many areas, floors, etc. To check your mobile situation is only possible in exactly your location. You can do it yourself or you can ask a technician to do it in your location...

I live on a high floor and have no problems with True 4G data, though I dont use it very often as I have VDSL also.
hereforgood Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 I have had true internet for approximately seven years whenever I've had a problem I've been able to talk to an English-speaking person and I have had very few problems I might add. I was never put on hold and when they said somebody would take care of my problem it was taken care of. The last issue was the worst I went without internet for two weeks but nothing to do with true it was to do with internal wiring in my building. When they had finished repairing the wiring true came out directly and I was back online at once. I'm a big true fan
Mai Mee Tang Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 Your problem with AIS could be due to the location of the closest BTS, mobile phone antenna, it might be too far away from you or if living in a crowded area, it might saturated with other users and then drop your signal. If you have already switched to True, give it a try, if you are getting better signal then you should not have any problem to use your phone as a hotspot for the Smart TV, with unlimited data of course, as video streaming will use quite a lot of data. You could experience a bit more delay rather than with a cable connection, but nothing to worry about if your 4G signal is good enough. If True is still not working, have a try with DTAC, they also have unlimited data packages. My advise is to check from your condo windows/balcony if you can find out any 4G antenna (BTS) and then try to find which provider is the owner, then get a SIM from that provider and all should be fine.
moonseeker Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 Never any problems with AIS call or data. Neither in high rise 14 fl up in town or many miles out at sea down South. Stabil, fast and reliable. MS>

mike324 Posted November 16, 2018 Posted November 16, 2018 The reception is bad because your condo is located in an areas where cellphone signal is not strong. The condo did not install additional cell signal boosters on each floor in the whole building. I know this for a fact as I have experience it in many new condos, majority of times the owners were able to petition the board to get this installed in all floors. Your best bet it to simply install internet instead of relying on your 4G to rectify the problem the fastest way.
