HappyFalang
Hello everyone, I have a motorbike with Krabi plates here in Chiang Mai the bike haven't been transferred to my name. And tax is unpaid for a few years. Can I have the bike put into my name and pay the tax for the bike here in Chiang Mai? Does anyone know how much I can expected to pay for the unpaid tax? It is 5 years total... i have all the papers ready to put the bike in my name.

Around 50 baht, but you must do it this year. Unpaid tax over 5 years, and the bike will be 'out of the system' so to speak.
Toosetinmyways
Just did the same but Chonburi to Rayong. 4 years unpaid tax change name and plates. Used agent around 4500 baht including 12 months new tax and insurance.
steve187
you can pay the back tax leaving the bike in the old keepers name or transfer to your name and change the plates to local plates, all the correct paperwork will be required, copies of previous keepers id card, forms filled in and signed by them , address verification for you by immigration etc.

johng
The bike doesn't have to be in your name to pay tax and insurance...apparently you can even do it with just a copy of the green book..so no excuses
