EEC and rental property

Featured Replies

Anybody have thoughts on whether rental properties in Pattaya will see an increase in occupancy rates if and when the Eastern Economic corridor kicks in?

Its renters market ..more than ever vacancies ..i reckon ????

If history is any indication, every time vacancies go up dramatically I've seen prices go UP to try and make up for empty units. Thai "logic."

I doubt it and also i thought that eastern economical zone was already shifted in another plan location near the border.

Not sure. I recently read that the EEC included Rayong,Chonburi and Chensengao * (sp)

They are still building and rents have already decreased. Not sure they can get any lower though. Just more options for your money.

It always depends on the neighborhood.

High end of the market will always have takers. The mid and bottom end is over loaded. Do you see any significant real changes in the EEC? I work and live in Chonburi and only thing to note is the opening of the 7 toll road has created a lot of problems for retail businesses that are now very effectively cut off from the highway.  With that, perhaps some people that lived midway between Sriracha and Pattaya will move closer to Pattaya or less likley Sriracha to get easier access to the toll gates?

Can’t give em away, nobody here.
