Hi there,

I am a half thai half farang and I would like to get my ID card whilst next in Thailand.

I have a Thai Passport and Thai Birth Certificate. I have never lived in Thailand.

How do I go about registered in the house book?  I don't have an address in Thailand.  I do have some extended family in the north of Thailand.

I have addresses that I could be registered to in Bangkok - is it possible to visit an amphur in Bangkok or will I need to travel to where my family is in Northern Thailand?

I apologise for my ignorance here.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

You can get registered at any address. The owner or house-master named in the Tabian Baan of the address you’re registering at will need to go with you to get you added to the TB.

Just find someone willing to put you in their Tabien Baan (House Book) and go with that person to his/her local District Office (called Ket in Bangkok.) It is an easy process since you have a Thai birth certificate.
