As title suggests, and advice? (no cloraform or ear-plug jokes, please).

Economy Class only (tried EVA Evergreen DLX before, but since armrests don't raise they get ruled out). One baby is still below 2 years, but too big for a bassinette, so we may get stuck getting another seat in high-season.

Would like to know what special steps Cathay takes (or doesn't!) to make your life easier and suggestions about other airlines (destination North America).

We have travelled with our kids every year to Thailand since they were born, except last year. My kids are now in their teens. We had good treatment from all the airlines we used. If one kid is over two it is no longer a baby and must have a seat that will not be used that much. You can always use the floor space under that seat to make a bed from blankets for the other toddler. If at all possible get a bulkhead seat although they will first go to those with very your infants. And if the toddler is close to two and a big kid then just bite the bullet and get them a seat.

All the airline's flight crews tend to dote on the kids a bit when they have free time except for those nasty burned out grannies flight crew members, you know the ones with "seniority." The younger flight crew will be nice, especially the young Asian flight crew members if any. The girls who fly the Bangkok-Tokyo legs are of course my favorites.

If the kids can walk there are always other passengers who are very, very bored who love talking to little kids. Let the kids free to walk the aisle and make new friends. When the nasty grannies on the US flights complain pretend you don't speak English and just ignore them but do fetch the kids during meal service and when the seat belt light is turned on. Help make the flight crew's work easier and they will help you.

Have seen good reports of EVA economy class for baby (person involved paid for DLX but moved back to economy and was very happy). If he had paid economy class he would probably have been even happier as it is usually among the lowest priced.
