February 18, 200719 yr As I said in another post, my favorite restaurant has become inconsistent and now we are longing for some good gaeng khea. I went to the market and bought the curry paste, a bunch of vegies and added a little pork. It came out very good, but it's more time-consuming and costly than getting this at a restaurant. Does anyone know of a good place to get this dish? Thanks, Just_elaine
February 18, 200719 yr Back in Chiang Mai again? Welcome back.... I like to get gaeng khea, and many other dishes from the guy who has a food stall just inside Warorot Market. Go in the Southern entrance from Chang Moi road and his stall is right there. Little tin tables and stools to sit at. Don't tell anybody else, but he does he does some of the very best Thai food in Chiang Mai. Comparable in flavour with the best you can get anywhere, although the atmosphere of his establishment might leave a little to be desired at times.
February 19, 200719 yr Author Hi. Yes, we're only back for a short time, but we'll be back again towards the end of the year for a couple of months. Thanks for the tip. We'll try to check it out in the next few days. Elaine
