Incorrect Date: Departure Card

Featured Replies

Hi. I have a question about my departure card. I didn't notice that there is a mistake about the date of my card. It says there that it is valid until January 4, 2018..but, it is supposed to be until January 4, 2019. What do I need to do about this? Thank you.

People lose their departure cards on regular basis. I think passport control will see the error and just move you on. Clearly just a mistake with stamping. What you need to do is just exit on your planned date.

Ubon will be along with definitive advice.

The important date is the one in your passport. If that gives you permission to stay until January 4, 2018, you need to go to your local immigration office and get it changed.

The stamp on the departure card isn’t important as long as you’ve the right date in your passport.

Okay. Thank you for your response. ????

I have another question. The Thai consulate in Malaysia granted us the Non-B Visa which has 90-days validity. But, the immigration stamped my passport valid just for 30-days. I mean, in my non-b VISA it's valid from December 06, 2018 - March 04, 2019.. but the immigration officer stamped December 06, 2018 - January 04, 2018 (This incorrect year was my concern last time). I'm so confused about it.

You need to go to an immigration office to get the 30 day entry stamp changed to the correct 90 day entry you should of gotten from the non-b visa and have the correct year put on it as well.

Okay, sir. Thank you. I'll go to the immigration office by Tuesday. ????

Last time that happened, 30 instead of 90, I got the date change stamp in my passport done locally but was told that the main computer data change can only only be done in Bangkok.

I still had no problem the next time I left and re-entered.

Exactly the same thing happened to me.

I was stamped in with a 'permission to stay until date' one year earlier than it should have been (i.e. in the past).

I went to Sri Racha immigration, explained what had happened, sat and waited for 4 hours until I was the last person there. Then the Immigration Officer shouted at me, "Whayouwan?" I explained again and the error was corrected after I had paid them for photocopies of all information-bearing pages of my passport.

In Rayong mine was done in about 10 minutes, no charge.
