Nearly six months after they were dramatically rescued from a flooded cave in northern Thailand, the Wild Boars soccer team has a message for the thousands of people who helped save them: “Thank you.”

TIME spent a day with the 12 boys and their assistant coach in early December, and they said they have recovered and are ready to give back. Their parents have launched the Wild Boars Education Fund to raise money for all of the team’s members to complete their education so they will be better equipped to help others in need.

“We are so touched by your kindness,” says 13-year-old Phanumat Saengdee, who goes by the nickname Mix. “I want to be strong and capable when I grow up, so that I will be able to help a lot of people.”

They've been helped enough already...the rest is pure drivel.

Someone is controlling these kids and milking it for all it's worth!

They're young kids and have zero idea about how the world works.

They've become puppets.

Sick parents trying to get even more money out of a near tragic event.

Greedy bar stewards.

Give them jobs as tour guides at least they know the way out

Surely they've gotten plenty for all of these TV appearances, upcoming movie, etc.?  If not, these people doing the interviews and movies have some 'splaining to do about why they're making money off these kids without them seeing a satang...

These boys have been flown  to Brazil, the United States ( even on the Ellen show),and to other events. —Not too shabby if you ask me. The whole Thai government has the responsibility to upgrade their education system in these neglected rural regions. (not private contributions)

All the money spent on them for the world tour could have paid their education here a couple times over.  Maybe it's time now for them to put their nose to the grindstone and make good grades to achieve something on their own for once.

He can try.  At the very least, he would inspire others.

Great incentive by the parents and I hope the Government makes a substantial donation to the charity.

How about giving the money to the Family of the deceased diver or paying back the money to the Thai Government which they spent on the rescue ?

They've been swanning all around the world, who has been pocketing all the money they've been given to do the TV appearances etc?
