What in case one enters Myanmar on Mae Sai border with the 500 baht Tachilek visa? Suppose one is rejected at Thailand border.

 

How to resolve such a stranded station? Is it possible to upgrade from Tachilek visa to another visa which would allow to travel to any city with any airport that allows to fly to another country?

Get a Myanmar e-visa online

Use the OFFICIAL govt website - https://evisa.moip.gov.mm/

$50 for Tourist e-visa, $56 for Express (turned around in an hour!)

They send you a PDF approval which has a barcode, use that to enter, and you can travel overland and exit anywhere else approved

I'm thinking of Tachilek also but because I would like to visit Kengtung again. Paying more but easier to set up.
