Has anyone made this trip? Will the taxis charge a premium at this hour?

I would like to schedule in advance with a taxi service. Emailed Cherry Taxi about it but she didn't confirm that they could do a trip that late (maybe something was lost in translation)

Leaving Pattaya at 2:00 am, there are two approaches you could take. You could book a taxi in advance, in which case it may be slightly more expensive at night but not much. On the other hand, you could try to find a taxi looking for a fare back to Bangkok around that time (there are usually a few). It then comes down to your skill at negotiating. It may end up considerably cheaper than usual. A few years ago, I flagged down a taxi on the Sukhumvit highway at 1:00 am and we agreed 300 baht and company for the trip back would satisfy the driver.

Just re read your post. Don mueang is way different to swampy. So your catching a flight ....why go late. Get a bus from jomtien food court to swampy. 120 baht. Then get shuttle bus to don mueang. Need show ticket. Have a beer at airport. As for guy said 300 baht to don mueang ..

Complete bs. Maybe possible one in a million. Seems your flying. Why go late. If you really want book private car try MR T TAXI.

Good service. Google net

The latest Jomtien to BKK Airport bus leaves 9pm: https://airportpattayabus.com/pattaya-to-airport/

Same for North Pattaya to Mo Chit. But to Ekkamai the last one leaves at 11pm: http://pattayabus.com/V2/pattaya-to-bangkok-timetable/

I could do this but it would add 3 hours. I think I would prefer the taxi route if I could get a reasonable price. Cherry quoted 1,400 thb. I have another one on Line (Champ Taxi) who quoted 1,250 baht.

I have do that trip MANY times. If you can get 1250 grab it. The cheapest I ever got was about that. Just make sure they include tolls. Your receipt will show it

You could take an earlier bus to Ekkamai, Skytrain to Mochit (closes at midnight), then bus or Taxi to airport.

Don't believe some of the crap about prices. To DMK from Pattaya is not cheap.

The prices you are being quoted are pretty much inline.

I usually pay 1500 but it is a private car not a taxi.

This has nothing to do with visas, but anyway there is one zillion boths with taxi service. To swampy day time about 800baht. Your going to pay more at your time.  What's the big deal.

Must have been a long time ago. I use Mr T and the price recently rose from 1k baht to 1100 baht. Never heard of anyone getting it for less than 1k baht. Same price at 4am as it is at 4pm. Never done Don Mueng in a taxi but would expect it to be around 1500 baht.
