A 3am fire in Bangkok’s Khlong Toei district gutted five shops on Friday morning but caused no injuries.

Pol Major Panuthat Kidnok led the investigation as fire-fighters spent an hour extinguishing the blaze that started in a tin-roof, four-room furniture shop next to the disused Pak Nam railway.

Ten fire engines were engaged, but the flames had already engulfed the entire furniture shop full of flammable materials and four adjacent stores.

The cause remained under investigation Friday afternoon.

That is not going to help fix the pollution problem.

"four-room furniture shop" - the seat of the fire!

Don't mean to spoil the party, but somebody is definately going to get benefit and make good bucks with the incident.

If you want to couch it in those terms... then maybe we should table this discussion... you know, put it to bed...
