Toosetinmyways
Perhaps the Thai immigration have this system installed at point of entry. The UK government is considering installing this company's system at all points of entry to the UK after Brexit. The system is by a company called iborderctrl. Summary from company. "Compiles a full facial profile using video and photographs. Scrapes and scours all of your social media accounts. Document and signature analysis. Creates and stores your digital voice print. Provides risk assessment based on aggregate data" An opposition group has already been formed https://iborderctrl.no/
Popular Post bubba45
The officers are probably taught profiling. Typically they will be presented with a list of anywhere from 4 to 7 signs to look for. Part of it is judgement by the officer, but if you fit enough of the signs, you're toast. The list is developed from experience, and usually works very well. Profiling has become a dirty word in some parts of the world (America) but it's a proven and effective method of detecting whatever you're looking for. A simple example is if you're looking for a terrorist, it's better to pull aside a young male of middle eastern descent than any woman over 55. That's profiling in a simple sense. So, as some above have stated, one profile point would be many entries and exits from Thailand. Another would be how your profession matches with the multiple entries and exits. No doubt your physical appearance as well. You can probably guess at other points the officer will look for. Profiling. Used effectively all over the world by law enforcement.

That's a machine that does profiling, or I guess you could say assists with profiling. Without looking at the link for the opposition group, I already know it's a liberal group that believes love, peace, and understanding will cure all ills. And I'm sure they're all for open borders. But to keep these same people safe and free to protest, we must profile. Profiling works.

Profiling is a good first step in this context, if it is: Being applied consistent with stopping "threats" to the country (not some other agenda) There is some sort of transparent follow-up/appeal process, to account for the fact that profiling is not accurate for individuals - just a way to narrow down a target-group for further inspection. I think open-borders are insanity, btw - especially for a nation with a middle-class to protect and preserve. The only visitors you want en-masse, are those who have their own money to spend. Then, a few specialists in foreign-languages, or technical specialties - but the latter only until you get your own citizens trained ASAP by those specialists. The complaint is the amount of personnel data that all non EU citizens will have to divulge in order to obtain a visa. Remember that includes Thais. The system is being trialed at the Latvian, Greek and Hungarian borders. Will the Brits need a visa after the transition period? Maybe no more ciggie runs to Spain unless you have a visa.
