Dog seeking adoption

I have had one dog for coming up 11 years and around this time last year, I took in a second dog, one who had been found in a very sorry state and who needed a good home. He was quite skittish when he first arrived and it seemed clear that he had been mistreated. When you put food in front of him, he would bolt it down in an unbelievably quick time, scared that he wouldn't get it if it wasn't gone in seconds. He learnt a painful lesson when he tried to eat my older dogs food, a lesson that nearly cost him his life and did cost me many thousands at the vet. My older dog still hasn't fully accepted him as a mate, but the growling has almost ceased.

I have come to realise that as much as he is loved in this house, it is not the right place for him. I live in one of the villages on Pattayas Darkside, he is a young dog, who has boundless energy and needs significantly more space to run around that I can give him here. He is very keen to dig, which is a little difficult as my outdoor area is entirely paved, though this hasn't stopped him from trying. He has tried to dig up my lounge and kitchen floor too, with as little success as he has had in the driveway. On his plus side, he is an awesome ratter. A mouse ran through the living room the other day, and he had the thing in a heartbeat. He dispatches any rats running around the village too in such an efficient manner, I suspect he used to live on them at some point in his past.

He is a real character, very gentle and friendly and adores being made a fuss of. He has never bitten anyone, or ever tried, even though my mates kids have teased him horribly, he just revels in the attention. He has come to the realisation that there is not going to be a shortage of food here, and now takes his time, well, as much as any dog does, and he is very good at letting you know when he needs to go out. He seems to prefer to being outside and while he slept for a while in my sons room, he generally sleeps outdoors. I am not sure if this is because he prefers it, or if it has anything to do with my son being a slovenly pig, but I digress.

We think he is a little under three years of age, he has had all of his shots from the vet and has been neutered and weighs in around 18Kg.

I am not by any means desperate to unload him, but I am keen to find him the right home, where he has room to run around and can be a friendly and loyal pet for the right family, and where he will be able to dig a hole or two and be happier. I suspect he may have been run over at some point, as he gets very scared around motorbikes going quickly. He will bark and chase the fast ones, but doesn't bat an eyelid when they cruise by slowly.

Here are a couple of photos of him below. Please send me a PM if you may be able to offer him a good home, or if you have any questions.

Thank you for your time in reading this, and A Happy New Year to you all.
