Tourist Visa

Featured Replies

Hi guys, i read some topics on the forum but i don't think that I resonate with any so further due I'm from Romania, but for the last 6 months I'm living as a tourist in Hong Kong. My fiancee is going to work in Bangkok for 3 months and as we're always traveling together I have to get a 3 months visa as well, but I don't fulfill the requirements to apply for 90 days tourist visa as I don't have a job. From what I've read on the official Thai embassy website for Romanians, as tourist, you can get visa on arrival for 15 days only. Any options, any advice? Thanks and Happy New Year! ????

There is no job requirement for a single entry tourist visa, so you should be able to get this (unless there would be some special requirement for Romanians).

When you enter with this visa you get a permit to stay 60 days, which you can extend by 30 days at an immigration office in Thailand

You are right that you can only get 15 days visa on arrival that cannot be extended.

If you have got a non-immigrant visa that gives you a 90 days stay then you have the best you can probably get.

A 3 month Tourist Visa (SETV) would give you 60 days on entry that can be extended at immigration by 30 days.

Once your initial visa for Thailand runs out - if you need more time - you should be able to get a SETV from one of the countries neighbouring Thailand. Vientiane in Laos is a good option.

If you are currently in Hong Kong, see if the Thai consulate there will issue you a single entry tourist visa. Usually, this should be possible. As already explained, this would allow you a 60-day stay in Thailand, which can be further extended by 30 days at an immigration office in Thailand.
