shaemus Posted January 1, 2019 Posted January 1, 2019 there is a possibility that i may be offered a full time job in thailand. The wage would take me into the 30% tax bracket. Are there any income tax reduction schemes that i could utilize. Many thanks Shaemus

scoutman360 Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 Max out your Provident Fund contributions (retirement fund). Also, contribute the maximum allowable to the RMF and LTF funds. This is another retirement fund contribution system that is non-employer related. The contributions are tax free and lower your annual income. If you are American, people argue that you would still have to pay taxes on the money anyway to the U.S. I believe, in your tax bracket, there are still benefits to contribute because you will not be able to utilize all your Foreign Tax Credits every year and will have carryovers. Long story.
