BANGKOK — Bangkok’s governor said Monday that on-again-off-again plans to build a concrete promenade along the Chao Phraya River will likely be discontinued. City Hall said it is still unable to find a contractor to build the boardwalks between the Rama VII Bridge to the Dusit district and Bang Phlat canal that were green-lit several months ago as bidding hasn’t been approved, adding that the government could backtrack on the plan due to widespread public disapproval as elections are approaching. worgeordie
It would have been another big waste of taxpayers money, when there are so many other things that need improving in Bangkok, some of these big projects can be more about commissions, than actually been of use to the population. regards worgeordie
jaiyen
They are unable to find a contractor because no Thai company wants to do the job ! Simple as that. They wouldn't even have the gear to do the piling, which would me a long job. A total waste of time and money. Nobody wants it.
