Netflix has urged fans to stop taking taking part in the Bird Box challenge, after the horror movie inspired people to undertake everyday tasks while blindfolded.

The popular thriller stars Sandra Bullock as a mother who tries to get her children to safety after an supernatural apocalypse occurs.

However, the huge task is made even trickier when both she and her children are blindfolded to prevent the descent to insanity that occurs if they cast their eyes on the film’s villains.

In the wake of the film’s popularity, fans have been filming videos of their attempts to perform everyday tasks blindfolded, before posting their efforts  on social media.

I watched the movie while blindfold in an attempt to convince myself that a 54-year-old woman could play the part of a 30-year-old pregnant woman in a realistic way.

Didn't we have a movie last year with creatures that killed anyone making a sound?

We've had 'see no evil' and 'speak no evil', now we just need 'hear no evil' for a full set of movies.

I'm glad I downloaded the movie so I could fast forward through the mess. The first 3 minutes looked promising if you could, as BritManToo mentioned, get past that leap of faith and accept a 54 yo acting as a 30 something preggo. After that, a cure for insomnia.

Time to 'Short' Netflix as their stock will go through the floor when the lawsuits start.

My only 'leap of faith' was wondering if M. Night Shyamalan is going to sue Netflix for blatantly ripping off the plot of The Happening right down to using a gust of wind to show the moment that people are 'turned' to commit suicide.
"But, but, it's not The Happening!  It's sorta like The Happening meets Pin The Tail on the Donkey.  It's different!  It's original!"
Yeah, right.  Of course it is.  <head shake>

I kinda liked the movie. Sandra Bullock is a hot woman at any age. As an actress, well that's marginal.

But overall I've wasted a whole lot worse time watching a movie over the years

A common thread for me with Netflix produced movies, are missing pieces and weak endings.  I've watched a few, and for some reason, I'm left wondering, what happened "here" (or there).  IMO the writing seems to portray abridged versions, shy of a few key details (scenes)...
