Re entry on a marriage visa

Featured Replies

Can I go back to the UK and return for a funeral and not have to re apply for my marriage visa?

I have a normal marriage visa.

Do you have a Visa or an extension of stay?

If you have a VISA (obtained from a consulate outside Thailand) and you will return before the "Enter before" or "Use by" date you need do nothing.

If you have an Extension of Stay (obtained from immigration IN Thailand) then you will need a re-entry permit, get it from your local immigration office or the airport when you leave. This will protect your current stay, so you must return before your current permission to stay expires.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

Assuming you have a 1 year extension of stay (permit) issued by immigration you need to buy a Single Entry Re-entry permit (1,000 baht) from you local immigration office, or at the airport on the way out. When you re-enter using that permit you will be stamped back in for the remainder of your current permission to stay.

If you leave without a re-entry permit you will have to get a new non 'O' visa and start the extension process again once you're back in the country.
