No more 90 day visa excempt by land?

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

Is it true that passport holders of the 5 bilateral agreement countries (Chile,  South Korea, Peru etc) cannot do border runs to Cambodia for another 90 day visa excempt anymore?

If so, does this only apply for only Cambodian borders or all?

Many thanks!

That is my understanding, at least as far as those countries receiving 90-day visa exempt entries are concerned. It is conceivable that land crossings to Laos (usually the friendliest) might allow them.

I decided to double check, and spotted this page which suggests a run through Ban Laem may be possible: http://bangkokbuddy.com/thai-visa-run/. I suggest you contact Tanya at Bangkok Buddy and check if the information on that page is up to date. She could also tell you if Laos crossings had the same policies.

Thai visa services website states this. For Ban Laem and Ban Phu Nam Ron. https://www.thaivisaservice.com/

  • Brazil, Peru, Argentina, Chile and South Korea can NOT get 90 day visa exempt stamp at these two land border crossings. Need fly OUT/IN or apply Thai Visa.

Understood. I was aware of this and, hence, my original answer. However, Bangkok Buddy's page was updated within the last six months and does not note that restriction. It is a fairly reputable company, and it seems worth checking to see if they are able to do it.

I am from one of those nationalities and I got 90 days when I crossed the border 2 days ago. Message me privately
