The Prime Minister has expressed his concerns over the well-being of southern residents, currently affected by tropical storm Pabuk, after receiving a report that the storm has touched down in the coastal area of Nakhon Si Thammarat, and is moving towards Surat Thani Province.

The Disaster Mitigation Center reports that the storm, which has a wind speed at the epicenter of 65 kilometers per hour is currently moving at 13 kilometers per hour, and has caused heavy rain in several areas, triggering a fear of flash floods, landslides, and mudslides.

The Prime Minister praised the efforts of related officials working on mitigating the disaster, while urging them to do their best to assist affected residents.

According to the statement, the Prime Minister will closely follow the efforts of the governors, the disaster mitigation centers and units concerned in each affected province.
