Boat operators, floating restaurants to be impacted by environmental-law changes

PATTAYA:--Chonburi asked Pattaya-area boat and floating restaurant operators how new environmental regulations might affect them.

Deputy Gov. Wisit Pungpetch chaired the Jan. 10 meeting on the latest update to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment’s list of protected sites in Banglamung District.

The draft list outlines coastal and marine areas to receive official government protection, including coral reefs.

The regulations will impact the current business practices of boat and jet ski operators as well as several floating restaurants. The operators were given a chance to provide input that will go into the final report.

The report covers jobs, security, competitiveness, development and environmental quality.

The toilets go into the sea, as does the dirty, greasy dishwater. Not sure where the rubbish goes but suspect into the sea as well.

Except the lobster shells, they get refilled with monk-fish!
