I managed to get my Non O visa a month ago, what is the process for extending 12months on a retirement visa and what is the cost?

You can apply for extension of stay after 2 months. Cost is 1900 baht. Do a forum search for the procedure/requirements. covered many times.

A 1 year extension of stay (“Retirement visa”) will cost 1,900 baht.

 

You can apply within the last 30 days of your current 90 day stay at the local immigration office covering the address you live at.

 

You will need 800K in a Thai bank, OR proof of at least 65K pm income, OR a combination of cash in the bank and income totalling 800K.

You can apply for a one year extension of stay at your local immigration office during the last 30 days of the 90 day entry from your visa.

You will need 800k baht in a Thai bank for 60 days or proof of 65 baht income or a combination of the 2 totaling 800k baht,

You will need a completed TM7 application form with two 4 X 6 cm photos attached.

Copies of your passport photo page. visa, entry stamp and TM6 departure card.

What method will you be using for the financial proof?

You will need a letter from you bank confirming you account and the balance on the it is written. It varies from office to office how old the letter can be when you apply. Getting it the day before should be accepted. Copies of you bank book show the money has been in the bank for 60 days. Many offices want the bank book updated on the day you apply.
