The Palang Pracharat Party which supports Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha’s return as prime minister today unveiled its ambitious so-called “7-7-7” policies that seek to, among others, carry on and expand the incumbent government’s various populist schemes ranging from welfare for the poor, and cheap housing to debt reliefs for laborers and farmers.

Palang Pracharat leader Uttama Savanayana announced that the party will take a lead in overcoming the political divide and to restore democracy for all Thais regardless of their political differences.

He said that the “7-7-7” policies are based on three major missions covering seven issues on welfare aspect, seven issues on social aspect and seven others on economic aspect.

Two stories telling the same lie; a rare example of consistency in Thai politics.

Democracy: a system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of a state, typically through elected representatives.

It would not be Democratic if it was just for the few.  He is sort of saying the future starts tomorrow.  My head hurts

Milk and honey for all...... um all of our friends! The worst of the worst liars here!

PPRP, as reported by webfact, 'today unveiled its ambitious so-called “7-7-7” policies'

7-7-7 . . . Like a jumbo-jet, almost. Don't these small-minded souls just love these big-sounding slogans? And if - assuming he ever grows the balls to throw his hat in the ring - Prayuth does get in on the PPRP act, there's fat chance for the welfare aspects of these policies ever seeing the light of day. Just more empty words that the Establishment are so good at.

Yes anything to get in power and then not keep the promises. The junta is great at emulating the politicians. During election time they all lie through their teeth making promises they can't keep and people fall for it. Lets hope not too many fall for these promises.

This Uttama character is the lovely, liberal man who was behind the plan (probably partially implemented by now) of constructing a Single Internet Gateway - for the junta to spy on EVERY single e-mail in and out of Thailand.

Yes, he sure does care about the Thai (and other) people and their liberties!

But will the voters believe that these policies will be implemented? And if so will they ever go to the polls? Will they need to or will someone be voting for them? So many questions with only one answer...without a major, unified response from the masses there will be no change in political leadership.
