Furniture repairman in bizarre death in narrow water pipe shaft

 

 

Police are investigating after a 41 year old furniture repairmen became stuck in a narrow cement shaft housing water pipes. 

 

A member of the public heard cries emanating from a five story black of police flats under construction next to the Bang Bon police station in Bangkok. Chaiwat Nak-iaw went with his brother to find the source of the sounds on the second floor of the building.

 

Unable to help the man they called the Poh Teck Tung foundation who were also unable to get the man out. They wondered how on earth someone could have got into such a small space. 

 

They decided to smash the shaft to get the man out with the operation taking an hour. But the man died shortly afterwards. 

 

He was named as furniture repairman Hat, 41, from Surin. 

 

His younger brother told reporters that he had received a call from the police to come and pick up his brother who was drunk and disorderly. 

 

He said his brother suffered from paranoia. 

 

A police investigation and autopsy is underway.

I see the pic and still have no idea how he got into that position

These reports usually leave me with more questions than answers. 

I think I saw an episode of X-Files about something similar.

Just strange.
